When Time Stands Still

Here we are at the end of 2015; what kind of year did you have?  Did you accomplish all you set out to do or was it filled with craziness and chaos?(like mine, and so many others!)

For me this day is the same as yesterday, and the same that tomorrow will be as well.  Unexcited?  No.  Perhaps being perfectly content with all that is and living in the moment has changed me.  Perhaps living in the moment causes time to stand still.  In this moment there is no future, there is no past.  There is nothing to worry about and nothing to fear because at this very moment the only thing that matters is YOU and your magnificent existence!

I read somewhere that having feelings of AWE will cause time to stand still and when you are experiencing awe it feels like you have all the time in the world (even if you don’t, really!)   What is time, anyway?  Time is what we make of it and when you realize that your health is more important than anything else in the world you will want to create more time for yourself.

So what are some ways of bringing more awe into your life?  Here are just a few examples, based on my own experiences:

  • Spending time in nature
  • Watching a sunrise or sunset
  • Experiencing yourself (or God) while meditating
  • Seeing something overwhelmingly beautiful
  • The moment you realize there are guardian angels around you
  • Feeling those guardian angels touch your hair or face
  • Spending time at the beach
  • Experiencing a sudden and profound feeling of peace
  • Having an “aha” moment of realization

I couldn’t have said the following better, myself:

“(Awe) is technically defined as the commingling of dread, veneration, and wonder. But I summarize it as the humility and wonder or sense of adventure toward living. Awe is also the capacity to be deeply moved and to experience the fuller ranges of being alive. For me, these many and contrasting dimensions make awe a supreme concept of transcendental experience, which too often gets reduced to one-dimensional terms like blessedness and bliss”   ~ Kirk Schneider Ph.D.- Psychology Today ~

Feeling awe is therapeutic and will give you the silent message that “everything is going to be ok”.  Remember, every moment we have a choice; shall I live in fear or live in love?  Shall I live in chaos or live in peace?  I, myself, choose love and peace and the more love and peace I project into the world the more love and peace I experience in my own life. My wish for humanity is the same!

If you have experienced a turbulent and unhappy 2015 then I join you in saying “goodbye” to it and if you have big plans for yourself in 2016 then I join you in the pursuit of happiness and bringing all of your dreams to your reality but most of all, what I wish for everyone in 2016 is to have an opportunity to exerience AWE and the wonderous feeling of Time Standing Still!

Happy New Year everyone!
